Today started with a mission.
We needed to find a big wheel creeper so we could finally get underneath the house and investigate the leak we have been chasing. We found one on Facebook Marketplace for $50, although it was about 35 minutes away.
That may sound far to some people, but around here “close” is relative 😅 The nearest town is already about 30 minutes away and the closest Home Depot or Harbor Freight is roughly an hour.
Before leaving to pick up the creeper, we discovered a huge millipede climbing up one of the tires. Between the rain, the woods, and the property waking back up for spring, there seems to be wildlife everywhere lately.

So off we went.
Turtle Rescue #1… and #2 🐢
On the drive back from picking up the creeper, we spotted a turtle slowly crossing the road.

We have always been told that if you move a turtle, you should move it in the direction it is already traveling because otherwise it will often just try to cross the road again.
So we stopped and helped it safely across.
Then, as we passed back through the little town on the way home, we found another turtle trying to cross.

Apparently today was turtle moving day at Memory Lane.
Tractor Trouble Waiting to Happen 🚜
Before heading to The Carrot Farm, we stopped at the New Holland tractor dealer.
Honestly, it is probably a good thing they were closed because we both found ourselves looking a little too hard at one of the big tractors 😉

One day.
The Carrot Farm Stop
While we were out, we stopped at The Carrot Farm and picked up:
, Brownies
, Lemon blueberry bars
, Strawberry rhubarb bars
, Fresh tomatoes
, Cucumbers
, Pickled garlic
, Pickled carrots
, Several new plants for the garden including dill and parsley

Before leaving, we also grabbed an apple cider donut 🍩
We would rate the donut around an 8 out of 10. It was really good, although honestly it probably would have been even better warm.
We have had their lemon blueberry bars before though, and if they are the same as last time, those are easily a 10 out of 10.
The pickled garlic and carrots will have to wait for another review because we have not tried them yet.

Laundry, Plants, and a Closed Rental Counter
Once we got to Cobleskill, we dropped off our laundry at the laundromat and headed over to rent a tiller for the garden.

Unfortunately, the rental department was closed for the holiday.
So instead, we improvised.
We headed to Walmart and somehow managed to leave with even more plants, including lemon cucumber plants and a few others 🌱

Then it was back to move the laundry into the dryer before making one more grocery stop at Price Chopper.
Eventually we finally made it back to Memory Lane.
But the day still was not over.
Under the House We Go 🏠
After getting home, we spread weed and feed on parts of the lawn. It is still way too early to know how well it works, but hopefully it helps the grass slowly reclaim some ground from the weeds.

Then came the real project.
We rolled underneath the house on the new creeper to finally investigate the leak.
Honestly, the creeper was worth every penny 👍

We would easily rate it a 10 out of 10. It did exactly what we needed it to do and saved us from literally crawling underneath the house on the ground.
Thankfully, the leak appears to be a drain pipe and not a supply line, which is definitely better news. We still need to investigate further tomorrow, but at least we now have a better idea where the issue is coming from.
Ending the Day at the Fire 🔥
After another walk down Memory Lane tonight, we came across an orange newt along the road. It is amazing how much wildlife starts appearing once you slow down enough to notice it.

When we got back, we started a campfire while waiting to work up an appetite for dinner.

There is something relaxing about sitting by the fire after a long day while the woods slowly settle down for the night.
Tonight’s dinner is what we would call “homemadish” Japanese food 🍜
, Dumplings
, Rice noodles
, Store bought ingredients modified at home
And honestly, after a full day of driving, gardening, laundry, turtles, leaks, and crawling under houses, it sounds perfect.
Just another day at Memory Lane ❤️
